Nội dung: My research in computer science is focused on artificial intelligence in general and in Machine Learning in particular. I collaborate with Jean-Daniel Zucker (IRD-UMMISCO-MSI team) and Marc Choisy (IRD-MIVEGEC) on optimization and machine learning problems, mainly applied to epidemics simulation to improve vaccination politics in South-East Asia. To fight epidemics, vaccines have been routinely applied at large scales on populations. Unfortunately, with the standard vaccination policies, stopping the epidemic process requires the continuous vaccination of up to 95% of the population. Recently, a new vaccination policy, known as pulse vaccination, has been shown to require much less than 95% of vaccination to reach similar successes. Our research aims at proposing a framework to represent politics (which may be seen as vaccination program) and algorithms to optimize these politics with respect to particular criteria (disease incidence, cost of vaccine, number of vaccinations campaign). In my presentation I shall present how to simulate the propagation of the epidemics as well as the pulse vaccination policy, and then we will show novel results on how to improve this policy using evolutionary optimization algorithms in our representation framework.
